Striking Off a Company in Singapore
CONDITIONS MAY APPLY TO STRIKE OFF A COMPANY
- The Company has ceased operation or has not commenced business since the date of incorporation.
- The Company is not involved with any court proceedings within or outside Singapore.
- The Company has no outstanding charges owing to ACRA, IRAS or any other Government departments.
- The Company has no assets and liabilities.
APPROVAL TO STRIKING OFF THE COMPANY
- The Accounting & Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) will send the "Striking-Off Notice" to the company at it's registered office address, directors at their residential address and Inland Revenue Authority in Singapore (IRAS) within 7 to 14 days from the date of application.
- The period given in the "Striking Off notice" to anyone who may wish to raise any objection to application is one month.
- One month after the "Striking Off notice", a notice of the strike off will be published in the Government Gazette within three months; any interested person can still raise an objection to this strike off.
- The final notification will be sent to the company stating that it had been struck off the Register after three months.
- If the application is not approved, such as the documents submitted are incomplete, still have outstanding assets and liabilities or someone raise an objection, the application will be return to the applicant to make the necessary changes or action to be taken and to re-submit.
